SharePoint (Web-based platform for group collaboration and support of typical workflows)

Microsoft SharePoint is a web-based platform for group collaboration (managing, editing and sharing information) and supporting the typical workflows in an organization. The SharePoint service does not include an email mailbox, this is additionally required. The prerequisite for use is the central user account (ZIH login). ZIH points out that the basic service does not provide anonymous access and public Internet presence. The SharePoint basic service includes the functions of a file storage service with central data storage, version and authorization management, and a full-text search. This functionality is provided in site collections (website collections, team or project site possible), which are administered decentrally (site administrators). The service can be used by all structural units of the TU Dresden within the scope of service tasks exclusively for teaching and research.
